MERGING ROTARY TRANSFER WITH TURNING
At IMTS, Buffoli Transfer is showcasing its new line of mill-turning
transfer machines. For high-production volumes of complex components,
the OMNI-TURN-TRANSFER CNC FLEX manufacturing cell combines and integrates
transfer-machine processes with lathe machining. This versatile
and quick-changeover system compliments Buffoli's line of TRANS-BAR
multispindle static bar-turning machines and existing lines of transfer
machines. OMNI-TURN-TRANSFER cells consist of 3 to 5 vertical lathes
and a rotary-transfer machine. This configuration optimizes part quality
and surface finish and processes critical operations in a single clamping
- as opposed to traditional transfer machines that process parts sequentially.
